The 4R is the only stage of the new Vespa
Raid European Championship sponsored by Vespa World Club.
The 4R is a regularity race in teams where
each team will consist of two pilots belonging to the same National Vespa Club (eg.
Vespa Club Italy, Vespa Club France etc. ..) so riders belonging to different
local clubs can compete together as long as the same country (eg. Vespa Club
Pavia’s rider could compete in team with Vespa Club Mantova’s rider).
The 4R will be on 29 and 30 September 2012 at
the beautiful Varzi, a town in the southern province of Pavia a few miles from
the borders of Lombardy with Piedmont, Liguria and Emilia Romagna.
The path of the 4R has a total length of
about 500 km divided into different sectors and will develop through the hilly
areas of the 4 regions.
The riders of each team will alternate as in
a relay race distance in the different sectors, each of which will start and
finish in Varzi.
The 4R will test the skills of navigation and
orientation of competitors both day and night under conditions of maximum
security, the average hourly during the day will be set at 30km/h and during
the night 25km/h.
The chronometric controls are numerous, of different
types (time controls, individual regularity stages, team special stages, average
speed timed sectors) and will be measured with a precision of a hundredth of a
second.
At the end of the event will be awarded the
top 10 teams absolute, the best team in the "team special stages”, the
best team in the "average speed timed sectors".

Il 4R è la tappa unica del nuovo Campionato
Europeo Vespa Raid promosso dal Vespa World Club.
Il 4R è una gara di regolarità a squadre dove
ogni squadra sarà composta da due piloti appartenenti allo stesso Vespa Club nazionale
(es. Vespa Club Italia, Vespa Club Austria etc..) quindi potranno gareggiare
insieme piloti appartenenti a diversi Vespa Club Locali purchè della stessa
nazione (es. un pilota del Vespa Club Pavia potrà gareggiare in squadra con un
pilota del Vespa Club Mantova).
Il 4R si svolgerà nei giorni 29 e 30
Settembre 2012 nella splendida cornice di Varzi, cittadina situata nel sud
della Provincia di Pavia a pochi chilometri dai confini della Regione Lombardia
con le Regioni Piemonte, Liguria ed Emilia Romagna.
Il percorso del 4R avrà una lunghezza
complessiva di circa 500 chilometri suddivisi in diversi settori e si
svilupperà attraverso i territori collinari delle 4 regioni.
I piloti di ciascuna squadra si alterneranno
come in una staffetta nella percorrenza dei diversi settori ciascuno dei quali
avrà partenza ed arrivo in Varzi.
Il 4R metterà alla prova le abilità di
navigazione e orientamento dei concorrenti sia di giorno che di notte sempre in
condizioni di massima sicurezza fissando la media oraria diurna a 30km/h e
quella notturna a 25km/h.
I controlli cronometrici saranno numerosi, di
diverso tipo (controlli orari, prove di abilità individuali, prove speciali di
squadra, tratti a media imposta) e verranno misurati con una precisione al
centesimo di secondo.
Al termine della manifestazione verranno
premiate le prime 10 squadre assolute, la miglior squadra nelle sole “prove
speciali di squadra”, la miglior squadra nei soli “tratti a media imposta”.
